The type of personal information we collect
Personal data includes any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. This does not include any information that does not, and cannot be used to, identify an individual.
The data we collect includes information about children. Therefore, we are aware that we must be extra cautious when processing personal information. In most cases, we do not anticipate that we will be collecting personal information directly from any children. We anticipate and assume that we will be collecting personal information only from parents or guardians.
If you are under the age of 13, you may only provide personal information if you have the consent of, and are supervised by, a parent or guardian.
We currently collect and process the following information:
Parent or carer’s name, email address and phone number
Parent or carer’s home address if we are coming to your house to test games
Child or children’s names, and their year and month of birth
If you participate in a playtesting session, audio and video recordings of the child/ren
How we get the personal information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
In order for you to be informed about upcoming playtesting sessions
In order for your child to take part in a playtesting session
To fulfil the requirements of a playtest (data about child’s age, their interest, and then images, video and audio of them playing the game)
We use the information that you have given us in order for you or your child to take part in playtesting sessions.
For each playtesting session we will ask you to give us permission that your child’s video, audio and images can be shared with the game’s publisher, game developer and licensor. The videos, audio and images will be kept for 6 months and then deleted.
We do not share your contact details with any third parties.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting hello@playtestgames.co.uk.
For children, participating consent can only be provided by the parent or guardian of the child.
How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored.
We keep your contact details on file until the month your child turns 18. We will then dispose of your information by deleting it electronically and shredding any papers we have. If you wish to be removed from our files before then, please contact us at any time by emailing hello@playtestgames.co.uk.
For the videos, audio and images we make of your child playtesting a game, we keep them securely for 6 months and then delete them.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the the right withdraw your consent to processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
